best sleep of my life
September 22nd, 2009 by Rosi Alvaradoso i admit that i am working hard…but i have to be honest that i am sleeping like i have never before slept in my life. i guess its the altitude, but its fantastic!
so last night had a great dinner again…oh after another short nap. then i went with leah to pick up her laundry. a cab is basically 2.50 soles anywhere in the city…so yes, that´s about 90 cents USD.
fortunately, im able to walk everywhere i go anyway.
came home and leah, ingrid and i laughed for what seemed like forever. love those girls. leah is perhaps the sweetest person i´ve ever met and ingrid is wise beyond her years and tells the best stories.
i also should mention that we have a dog and cat. the dog stays outside most of the time as do most dogs. the cat loves me. jumped right in my lap when we met and stayed there for hours.
so the night before last i was the last one to bed. in the middle of the night i hear the water in the bathroom going and i was freaking out that the house was gonna flood…but didnt get up to check anything. so yesterday ingrid brings it up…apparently she woke up and was terrified and thought someone came through our window….which by the way would be pretty simple to do. she nominated me to be the one to check if anything weird happened again…thanks ingrid. we asked juan carlos and he explained to us that its the strange plumbing over here and that was it.
THEN…we were out of toilet paper…so I nominated Ingrid to ask JuanCarlos to get us some…so I hear her in the hallway asking him for it and telling him ¨….Its b-c Rosi used it all!!…so then Juan Carlos wants to know if Im okay. The entire situation was hilarious. I guess you had to be here to witness this stuff, but I really couldn´t ask for better roommates.
Breakfast was bananas with yogurt and bread…and coca tea of course.
We had a party with the kids today. Two of the volunteers leave today so they brought balloons and we danced and had very light snacks.
On my list of things to buy for them….towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, hand soap, some new crayons, markers, books, coloring books, dvds for their 1 hr of movie time in the afternoon.
I would love to get them a nice big area rug as the floors are sooo hard, but not sure if cleaning would be too difficult. Those chicos are messy!
I can´t believe its Tuesday already.ç
Marina invited us to go listen to some music tonight so as long as I have an ounce of energy in me, I´m going.
Hope all is well back home…
