Lovely Day in Eastbourne
May 11th, 2009 by kversteegToday we went with Ray to Eastbourne Sand Dunes to plant and weed. It was a fantastic day. We have had some rainy weather recently so we were so excited to have a little sunshine. For the first part of the morning we dug holes and planted a native beach plant. We took our morning tea at David’s house which is always fun. He coordinates the work on the Eastbourne Sand Dunes and often comes out and lends a hand with the planting. We had morning tea at David’s house which included cheese crackers, little lemon cookies and earl gray tea. After a wonderful morning tea, during which time we determined every volunteer’s Spirit Animal, we went out and finished off the day with a lot of weeding. We still need to figure out what kind of Spirit Animal fits Ray. If anyone reading this knows Ray and has some good suggestions, let me know!!!!
For a lunch treat we picked up fish n’ chips and ate them at Ray’s house. Ray has two cats named Gizmo and Lynx who love to be beautiful and meow a lot. I enjoy them a lot because they play fetch. On our way back to the house Jamie and Karlan jumped off the pier in Day’s Bay. The water is cold but they are still alive! YAY!
