Week two – I get 30 kids….??

Hi everyone,
Well I am well and truely in my placement now. I live about 8 minutes walk from the home where I am helping out with 30 kids. 23 boys and 7 girls. It is challenging at the moment as they are out of school for the period between two major festivals – Daisan and Tihar.
Tihar is this weekend & goes for 3 days. It is to worship three different Hindu Gods and there is singing, lights everywhere, presents, sweets and Tikka. Different family members Tikka each other on different days. I am very excited to be here to watch and will hopefully have some pics up next week.A bunch of us are ging to visit Kathmandu on Sunday & stay a night to watch the Tihar happenings in the city.

We are spending alot of time paying games with the kids and making sure they are all getting their homework done before they go back to school next week. Like I said we have thirty kids but also 6 ducks and a very fluffy white angora rabbit.
Yesterday we went to the markets in Lagankhel & I got some material which I am going to get made in PJ pants when I get home other than that it was rather like the Otara markets with randon Silver and Gold shops just for good measure.
I am still loving my Dhall Bhaat and Kharja and it is still hot about 25 – 30 degrees but it is getting colder in the evenings.
My new host family are great and April is just down the road. The whole family in the little Cul De Sac we are in are related so there is a lot of back and forth which is cool. There are also goats..

Hope you are all well – Only one month and I am back!!! ARGGHHH!! I will have to learn to use & knife and fork again…..
