Sixteen down and still counting
October 12th, 2009 by Sami Buisson-DanielTime is flying quickly now and soon I’ll be flying quickly too. I can’t wait to taste the Ethiopian food. I do go here in Philly but it’s a long time in between meals. I received my Visa on Saturday so that means I have everything that is required. I’ve used the check list that GVN supplies and it’s got a lot of checks on it. My only thing left is to pack and that’s nearly done. All is packed except my clothes and toothbrush. I was hoping to hear from the volunteer that is presently at the orphanage to respond to my questions. He did once and told me to bring a sweater. It’s always helpful to hear from present volunteers because it gives you a good idea of what is happening, weather, things that are needed, etc. I do have the email of the contact person who is running the program so I’ll write to her. I promise to keep you all informed through this journal (as much as possible.) I’m not sure if there is service at the orphanage or nearby – if so, you’ll hear from me often and if not – I’ll do my best to stay in contact and let you know what is happening. Bye for now
