Attention & Intention
October 11th, 2007 by Danielle Denis-Lalonde
Well here it is…my first journal entry.
I feel the need to begin with some profound statement on the global environmental crisis, or my ongoing personal evolution, but instead, all that comes to mind at this very moment is:
3 MORE DAYS TO GO – Woooooohooooooo!
Aside from the fact that I appear to have developed a sudden and acute case of Attention Deficit Disorder (I can’t focus on anything for more than 5 minutes!), I am very excited about this upcoming trip and would now like to take the time to set some conscious intentions prior to my departure.
During my 9 weeks on the equator, I hope to:
- deepen my bond and appreciation for our Mother Earth
- pour my heart & soul (and sweat) into a worthy cause
- connect with some great people
- see/smell/taste/touch/hear all kinds of crazy new things
- become suddenly and miraculously fluent in spanish
- avoid losing any limbs while honing my machete skills
On a more personal level, I hope to:
- live in the NOW
- let go of overwhelming responsibilities and limitations
- clear my mind of social cobwebs
- turn down the volume on the mental noise
- increase my capacity for compassion and love
- reconnect with the simplicity of Life
- LAUGH…often!
When it really comes down to it, I’m open to whatever experiences come my way. Whether it’s a machete mishap, or a divine “Ahhhhh” moment, or the various random happenings in between. It’s all part of life’s great adventure!
