About Chanel Jencks

I'm going to Costa Rica to volunteer at a wildlife preserve where the leatherback sea turtle nests. For the first week I will be learning spanish in San Jose, then 3 weeks with the turtles, and then approximately 3 weeks in the rainforest. I'll keep you all posted whenever I can.

We are all doing fine. It is really hot today at 730 am it was 87 degrees!!! we are doing a lot of back breaking work. the first few days we moved sand bags that we got to choose how much sand was in them . let me tell you i was not happy about that. but it got better. then we had to move the big sand bags that were prefilled that are used as barricades- those are some HEAVY things. it took two of us just to lift one of them. We all have blisters and sand everywhere. [...]

So, what to bring….. clothes of course, bug repellant (which i can;t wear half of the time, apparently the turtles don;t like it!), I’ve got shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush and all that stuff.
